1. VCI products contain inhibitors which sublime or emit into the air space. In order to ensure all metal surfaces are protected, enough VCI product must be added so that enclosed air space is saturated with gaseous VCI molecules. This vaporizing ability enables VCIs to protect METALS without direct application to the metal surface.
2.VCI molecules provide a thin film barrier protective layer on all metal surfaces once the saturation point is reached inside the vessel. Any intrusion or existing moisture will be shielded from the metal by self healing, self replenishing VCI molecules. Corrosion Protection is typically up to 2 years, depending upon conditions, applied rate and degree of air exchange of the vessel.
